Everychangeling and everypony, I and overjoyed to announce that today, Chapter Fourteen of Maternal Instinct has finally, and I mean FINALLY been finished and uploaded after months of writing and then thorough editing. I can't apologize enough for long it's taken, but that's how my creative juices work: up and down, up and down. Believe me, this chapter has been a BEAST!
Anyway, this is the chapter we've all been waiting for, and I think you all know what I mean by that. It has also, in turn, become the longest, with a record 11,063 words. With it's completion, I shall now focus my attention on finishing this story before I reach the second year mark. I've only got one more chapter and a final epilogue-like chapter after that. MLP G5 Movie: A New Generation Discussion
I'll just come out and say it: I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. No foolin'. Yeah, the plot didn't exactly reinvent the wheel and I imagine the animation will be an acquired taste, but I found myself truly impressed by the writing, the endearing characters and even the songs. I'm actually considering watching it again. Who knows? Maybe this will breathe new life into the franchise and fandom, as well as potentially refine on G4. What say you?
Problems portraying the Pony-Changeling Conflict.
With the conflict canonically at an end with Thorax in charge and friendly relations established between the two nations, I look back on hundreds of pre-October 2016 stories and even those now with 'AU' tags and wonder how the fandom has portrayed the conflict between these two nations. I do like how Wikipedia describes it as a 'Cold War', which I think is pretty apt when you think about it. Equestira and the Changeling Queendom/Kingdom/Hive/Pack/Empire (Man, there's been a lot of different descriptions) have been at loggerheads on and off for hundreds of years, the latter being the aggressor in every flare up. So with that in mind, there are really two problems I see come up regularly when I read fanfiction tackling this: 'Both Sides': Ya see... I don't have a problem with this in principle.
